The idea submission phase is over and participation is closed.
This hackathon is open to developers, designers, and anyone interested in enhancing accessibility in Microsoft Teams meetings. Participants can join individually or in teams.
The goal is to develop a tool, bot, or extension for Microsoft Teams meetings. This solution should provide real-time ASL interpretation and closed captioning. It must comply with accessibility standards and meet security requirements set by OWASP and NIST.
The solution should include configurable avatars for ASL representation and support real-time closed captioning in U.S. English. It must be deployable in a secure environment and adhere to Section 508 and ADA standards.
Participants are encouraged to use Microsoft Teams' development platform, Azure services, and relevant APIs. All integrated services and tools must comply with the security and compliance requirements outlined in the challenge.
Submissions will be evaluated based on functionality, compliance with accessibility standards, security, innovation, and ease of integration with Microsoft Teams. Detailed documentation and a working demonstration of the tool are also required.
The submission deadline will be announced on the official HackerEarth EmpowerX Challenge page. Participants are advised to keep an eye on updates and plan their development timeline accordingly.
Participants can access the Resource Center provided on the challenge page, which includes links to relevant documentation, tools, and guidelines for developing the solution.
